Chicken Pox

Well, we debated and debated and decided to get Gabriella the chicken pox vaccine a few months ago when she turned one because we felt the risks of the vaccine way outweighed the risks and complications from actually getting chicken pox.

Sunday evening we took her shirt off for dinner and found pox; little, gross, fluid-filled, nasty pox. After a quick trip to the doctor Monday morning it was confirmed and I began calling every single family in our church that had been in the nursery with her Sunday morning.

The last few days have been miserable to say the least. She only has a mild case since she got the first dose of the vaccine, I can't imagine a full blown one!

We've been eating lots of Otter Pops for fluid. She thinks its great!

She mostly has them on her back and arms. So we've been taking multiple oatmeal baths a day. I put the oatmeal in a piece of nylons and she loves to play with it and rub it all over her.

We are planning on going camping for 4 days this weekend and are still going to go. Our doctor told us to go and "infect the bears" so we shall!
